Structural Aspects of ERASysAPP
The structure of ERASysAPP has been streamlined to act in an interdependent, intertwined and cooperative way. This means that the entire ERASysAPP consortium represents more than the sum of its parts and WPs.
The work packages tasks in headpoints
WP1: Establishment of a project office, launch of ERASysAPP homepage, Kick-off and EB meetings, annual project and financial reports. WP1 depends on a stringent and excellent communication with all other WPs to facilitate its activities and its diverse reporting obligations.
WP2: List of peer review panel members for calls, production of call documents, publication of funded projects for each joint transnational call, mid-term follow-up report of first call funded projects, final call output report of funded projects, cost model for a sustainable call secretariat for the management of a long-term RTD joint programme. WP 2 will use the input of WP5 and WP6 as well as the input of the entire ERASysAPP consortium to develop, identify and name attractive and scientifically excellent call topics. The knowledge and experience of WP3 and WP4 with respect to issues of education/training and data management will have a direct influence on the reparation of call documents, e.g. phrasing and determining the conditions for participation in the call.
WP3: List of available graduate schools within the consortium on the ERASysAPP website, execution of four summer schools and annual reports on organised events in the field of training and exchange, report on curricula recommendation and actually implemented curricula changes, internet-based learning tools and access to the tools via the ERASysAPP website, online tool for exchange of educational materials. WP3 will receive help of WP4 in case of at least one work shop.
WP4: Contribution to the ERASysAPP call texts, initiation of a DM standards community project, launch of a DM standards website, initiation of a developers’ community project, training movies published on the website, report on minimal DM knowledge requirements, DM strategy for the five years after the end of ERASysAPP. WP4 will provide support and input for the summer school of WP3 on “DM in basic and applied SB research. Moreover, WP4 provides important input and knowledge on DM affairs. This input will be transferred into the subsequent call prerequisite with respect to DM structure and management. WP 4 will be responsible for the organisation and execution of six workshops on selected DM topics (see WP description).
WP5: Inventory of R&D organisations acting in SB from inside and outside consortium countries and EU member states, reports on workshops and networking with EU initiatives and SB research centres, WP inventory of EU and national initiatives related to SB, report on needs and gaps in European SB initiatives, inventory of innovative companies in SB, reports on workshops/networking of academia and industry, design/establishment of technology exchange platform, PR affairs, press releases, videos, and awards. WP5 and particular its early results will hopefully have a guiding influence on the identification of call topics and thus, on the execution of calls by ERASysAPP.
WP6: Report on input and output indicators for monitoring ERASysAPP, medium- and long-term strategic research agenda priorities, report on stakeholders needs and expectations, report on recommendations on operational structure and administration, position paper for long-term sustainable funding concept for a RTD joint programme on SB, reports on the ethical, societal and legal aspects.
